| 1 | A scheme for managing and/or decommissioning any borehole installed for the investigation of soils, groundwater or geotechnical purposes shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the local planning authority. The scheme shall provide details of how redundant boreholes are to be decommissioned and how any boreholes that need to be retained, post-development, for monitoring purposes will be secured, protected and inspected. The scheme as approved shall be implemented prior to the occupation of any part of the permitted development. Reason: To ensure that redundant boreholes are safe and secure, and do not cause groundwater pollution or loss of water supplies in line with paragraph 174 of the NPPF and ‘The Environment Agency’s approach to groundwater protection’. |
| 2 | Informative Note: The applicant is advised that borehole SI-BH 20 (shallow and deep borehole installations) is yet to be decommissioned as set out in Section 4.4 of Plan for Borehole Decommissioning and Borehole Retention at Land West of Warrenby, Teesworks. Doc. Ref. 10035117-AUK-XX-XX-MS-ZZ-676-03- LWW_Borehole_Decom. Rev 03 dated December 2024 received by the Local Planning Authority on 04/12/24. The condition can be fully discharged upon submission of suitable documentation in writing to the Local Planning Authority. |
