1 The application indicates a reduction of +50% of the Oak tree and while it is acknowledged that the tree would benefit from a crown reduction it is considered that the amount proposed is excessive. The proposal would cause harm to the health of the tree and would have an adverse impact on the trees appearance and amenity value within the street scene.
2 The Council’s Arborist, in his report, has indicated that a 20% reduction to the crown of the Oak tree would be acceptable. The applicant is advised to submit a further application to have the Oak tree crown reduced by no more than 20%.
