# Condition Details
1 Whilst the Council accepts that there has been some limited ground compaction as a result of development operations it does not accept that the degree of damage to the health of the tree justifies the felling of the tree. The Council is of the opinion that whilst the soil levels have been altered during the development process, sycamores are known to be a hardy species which can recover from both compaction events and altered soil levels. The tree is at present in full bud and is likely to come into leaf this year. The evidence submitted with the application is not sufficient, in the opinion of the Council, to justify the felling of a tree which is located in a prominent position in the street scene and is of significant amenity value.
