| 1 | REASON FOR DECISION: The trees the subject of the application form part of a Group Tree Preservation Order and contain trees which are protected for their contribution to local amenity. The Council has considered the information and evidence submitted with the application but takes the view that the primary reason advanced for the works, to improve the amount of natural daylight to the property, does not justify the felling and crown thinning of the trees. In all three cases the trees Sycamore (T1) (T2) and Beech (T3) are considered to be specimens in reasonable condition. The felling of (T1) and (T2) is not considered acceptable and will result in the loss of trees which make a positive contribution to the amenity of the area. The works to tree T3 are not considered to be in line with best practice. |
| 2 | INFORMATIVE NOTE: The Council's arborist has advised that there would be scope to carry out some works to the Beech tree. Further advise can be sought from the Council's arborist, Peter Sherry on 01642 776928. |
