# Condition Details
1 Whilst the development of the site for residential purposes is acceptable, the application submitted indicates a general layout that would result in the rear of the proposed dwellings facing out onto the main adjoining highway. In view of this the Council considers that the development makes no positive contribution to the appearance of the streetscene, the impact of which is exacerbated by the application site's prominent location. In addition, the proposal makes provision for an access road which is considered to fail to meet the standards adopted by the Council and contributes to conditions considered to be prejudicial to highway safety. In view of the above, the proposal is contrary to policy CS20, DP2 and DP3 and the guidance contained within the Design of Residential Areas SPD and adopted technical highways standards.
