| 3 | (3) Full details of the method of re-installing the stained glass panels and the protective glazing – to show how they will sit within the existing openings to demonstrate that they will sit comfortably alongside the existing stone surrounds of the window openings and any extant moulded details – shall be submitted to and agreed with the local planning authority prior to the re-installation of the stained glass and its protective glazing. REASON: Insufficient detailed information has been submitted with the application, and to ensure the protection and preservation of the special character and integrity of the special architectural or historic interest of the heritage asset. |
| 4 | (4) Large-scale samples of the glass to be used for the proposed outer protective panel shall be provided to demonstrate to the local planning authority and English Heritage how the division lines will be handled and how such divisions will relate to the stained glass. A statement of the implications of the alternative approaches and reasons for the preferred option, shall be submitted to and agreed with the local planning authority prior to the re-installation of the stained glass and its protective glazing. REASON: Insufficient detailed information has been submitted with the application, and to ensure the protection and preservation of the special character and integrity of the special architectural or historic interest of the heritage asset. |
| 5 | (5) A full and detailed report recording the works actually undertaken to the window and its surround, shall be submitted to the local planning authority and the English Heritage within 6 months of the completion of the approved works. REASON: To record the works undertaken to preserve and protect the stained glass, to inform the Heritage Environment Record and ensure the protection and preservation of the special character and integrity of the special architectural or historic interest of the heritage asset by informing future repairs and conservation works. |
| 6 | REASON FOR DECISION: The proposed repairs and conservation works will preserve the special character and integrity of this Listed Building. The proposal therefore complies with Policies CS25 and DP10 of the Council’s Development Plan. |
