| 1 | NOTE: The following development plan policies were relevant to this decision:- Local Development Framework Policy CS20, DP2, DP3. |
| 2 | (1) The planning permission for the original development was subject to a planning condition (20) which required the applicant to provide details of an improved bus service to the application site and to maintain that improved service for a period of five years. The condition was intended to reduce the traffic impact of the development, reduce reliance on the private motor vehicle and to provide an alternative mode of sustainable transport to the site. The application seeks to vary that condition to the extent that the bus service will not be provided at all. The Local Planning Authority has considered the information submitted in support of the application but takes the view that this does not justify the variation of the condition. It is the Councils view that there have been no material changes in planning circumstances since the grant of the original planning permission that indicate the condition the subject of the application should be varied or removed. Approval of the application will undermine the purpose of the original condition and promote access to the site by private car as the main mode of transport contrary to policy that seek to promote sustainable development and sustainable transport choices. |
