| 7 | REASON FOR DECISION: The proposed change of use, to DIY retail premises, is considered to be acceptable in this location by virtue of the fact that it would not have an adverse affect on the character or amenity of the area. Due to the close proximity to the existing commercial centre the proposed DIY store will not have an adverse affect on the vitality and viability of Skelton High Street. The proposal does not raise any issues in respect of highway safety or crime prevention. The proposal therefore accords with the Council’s adopted Development Plan. |
