REASON: The site is of archaeological interest. |
| 5 | NOTE: Redcar and Cleveland Local Plan Policies GEN1, GEN2 and ENV10 were relevant to this decision. |
| 6 | REASON FOR DECISION: The proposal is to build an attached garage at the rear of the property. Holly House is a Grade II Listed Building built in the mid nineteenth century. The proposed garage would be located at the rear of the premises. The design of the proposed garage is acceptable and the materials proposed are in keeping with the original dwelling house. Vehicular access would be as existing ie. from Westgate down the side of the dwelling. The only objection received relates to a right of way. The applicant maintains he does not consider there is a right of way at the rear of the property. In any event Members will be aware that rights of way are a civil issue rather than a planning matter since the grant of planning permission does not override civil considerations. The proposed garage is acceptable in planning terms and consent granted on this basis. |
