| 2 | REASON FOR DECISION: Permission is sought to erect a pouch box on Reid Terrace opposite the car park, a transitional zone from the main commercial uses of the town centre to the well-established residential neighbourhoods of north Guisborough. For this application Policies GEN1 and GEN2 provide the basis for determination of this application. These policies seek to achieve development that respects the character of the area and does not compromise highway safety or crime prevention aims of the Local Plan. The proposal does not give concern with regard to highway safety as it is directly opposite the car park along Reid Terrace which would help to alleviate any traffic concerns relating to Reid Terrace, which is a busy road at various times of the day. Technical Services support positioning of the pouch box in this location as it satisfies highway safety issues. In terms of visual amenity the positioning has no adverse effect to local residents. The application does not give cause for concern with regard to the crime prevention aims of the Local Plan. |
